Project description:
Olivier Kugler describes the life of Syrian refugees he met in the Domiz camp in Iraqi Kurdistan. The style is fresh and aesthetically pleasing. It’s also a great vehicle for the transmission of information. The images grab attention, but invite you in to examine the detail. Imagine using them as a portal to draw people from a social media feed into a deeper story, embedding links to video, audio, photography, background information and calls to action. This work was commissioned by Médecins Sans Frontières in 2014 and published in Harper’s among other outlets.
